Both copies have a piece of paper tipped in: an order form noting selection and costs of diary for 1895.

2 copies; one incorrectly dated '1893' on spine Wallet style, incorrectly dated '1893' on spine, Russian Black Leather (An animal skin made smooth and flexible by removing the hair and then tanned), with space for a pen and a gusset pocket built into the front cover (empty). Text block machine made paper, text printed in black, paper pre lined with blue and red printing ink. The Diary has all three edges gilt. The other diary is bound in green watered silk, (a silk cloth having a wavy or damask like pattern) with brown end papers.
