Description

Woodcut illustration from an edition of 1591 (19th year of the Wanli reign period of the Ming dynasty). There are 26 acu-moxa locations on the side of the head, including both left and right: hanyan (Jaw Cover); xuanlu (Suspended Skull) (not indicated here); xuanli (Suspended Hair); tianchong (Celestial Rushing); shuaigu (Leading Valley); qubin (Curve of the Sideburns); jiaosun (Minute Angle); qiaoyin; fubai (Floating White); luxi (Skull's Rest); chimai; wangu (Mastoid Process); and yifeng (Wind Screen) -- here written as yifeng (Medicinal Wind).
