Rowntree discusses cosmetics and the possible dangers of using these products. He points out that it is a heavily regulated industry, although individuals can be sensitive to different substances. He recommends that housewives protect their hands by using a barrier cream. Unfortunately, homemade cosmetics can be dangerous.

Francis St. D. Rowntree 1928-1996 was awarded the OBE in 1986. In 1987 he was appointed Vice President of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and also Vice President of the Institute of Health.
For a period in the 1970s, Frank Rowntree was the Health Education Officer for Sheffield. He was invited into the BBC Radio Sheffield studios for a regular short weekly health spot.
