Notes

Michael Figgis comes from London, born in Carlisle and raised in South Africa until he was 8 then moved to Newcastle until 18 when he moved to London. He is working with Gormley and Artichoke to make a documentary film. He has been a musician and actor and toured with his work and is now a film-maker based in London. On the plinth he is going to talk about the technical possibilities of the second reality, people don't exploit the cameras and sound in a way that would be more interesting for them. He will explain what cameras, sound do - like a flight attendant on a plane. He will also play the trumpet.
