A composition attributed in the lettering to Raphael, but apparently without foundation: "... è da sottolineare la affermazione del Passavant che la composizione non presenta nessun carattere raffaelesco, ma sembra piuttosto ricordare lo stile di Gerolamo Muziano nel particolare degli angeli ..." (Raphael invenit, loc. cit.)
Dedicated to Antonio Venturini, who is described as chancellor (?) of Sebenico or Šibenik, in Dalmatia (Croatia), near to the birthplace of Saint Jerome
