Biographical note

Dr George Stirling was appointed Consultant Psychiatrist in 1952 and became Medical Administrator in 1979, retiring in 1987. He was the longest serving Psychiatrist at Crichton Royal Hospital having served 35 years. Dr Allan C. Tait started at Crichton Royal Hospital in 1953 and held the posts of Director of Clinical Research from 1954 to 1966 and then Physician Superintendent from 1966 to 1978. Dr Archie Todrick was Senior Biochemist at Crichton Royal Hospital from 1955 to 1978.
