Project Summary:On Ageing is a theatre production about the ageing process. Grounded in socio-scientific research, On Ageing will be a public presentation prompting debate and discussion around social and cultural understanding of a universal biomedical process often misunderstood. Centred around the dynamism of ageing the performance will present paradoxes between the subjective and objective perception of ageing such as: Vitality- how people old people feel/act versus biological/social/cultural age Identity and diversity Change - how we observe change and how the way others perceive us changes Memory and future- the relationship between past and present To encapsulate these paradoxes On Ageing will be performed by children and an adult singer to adult audiences.
