Remarks on M. de Voltaire's History of Charles XII. King of Sweden. In which not only a great Number of that Author's Mistakes are rectified, but many of his Omissions are largely supplied; Series of Transactions are otherwise related than in him, or any other Writer; and several curious Particulars, no where else to be found, concerning the Battle of Pultawa, the King's Flight into Turkey, the Action and Peace at the River Pruth, the Intrigues and Negociations at the Porte, &c. are recorded. Interspersed with the characters and history of several Grand Visirs, and other officers of the Ottoman Empire. Written by Count Poniatowski, a Polish Nobleman, formerly Lieutenant-General to his Swedish Majesty, and his Minister at the Porte during that King's Residence in Turkey; now Lieutenant-General in the Service of Poland. Translated into English.
