About this work
Description
This woodblock printed work contains portraits and biographies of the 36 ‘immortals’ of Chinese medicine, including such famous doctors as Zhang Zihe 張子和 (c.1151-1231) and Hua Shou 滑寿 (1304–86). The text is in kanbun without any kunten and was compiled by Hikita Ryoan. It was published in 1688 by Nakagawa Bunrindō of Kyoto.
