Ownership note
On the title-page is the library stamp of Cardinal Alessandro Albani (1692-1779), and his library number 781.
From the Library of Prince Baldassare Boncompagni (1821-1894). The Boncompagni manuscripts were catalogued by Enrico Narducci (Catalogo di manoscritti ora posseduti da D. Baldassarre Boncompagni), whose catalogue was published in two editions, 1862 and 1896, which differed in both content and numbering scheme. Accepted practice is therefore to cite both numbers, giving the 1896 number first followed by the earlier number in parentheses. This item is therefore known as Boncompagni 368 (196). It has a label 'Boncompagni 368' pasted on the spine.
