About this work

Description

Manuscript draft notes of experimental calculations and findings relating to the measurement of water content and volume of the DNA structure, including notes on the Traube weights of the component parts of the DNA structure (by working out the partial molecular volumes of the parts of the DNA structure it was possible to work out the total volume of the DNA itself). Also experimental notes and results of the water content of the Lithium DNA salt at different humidities, with the recorded densities of the molecules. Article, ‘Models of a-keratin structure’, by Bruce Fraser, T. P. MacRae and D. H. Simmonds, offprint from Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, Vol 25 No 3 Sep 1957. Original file title ‘Density of DNA’.
