About this work

Description

Letters to Robert Whytt from various persons, with one draft reply by Whytt, and associated case-notes and prescriptions. Many of the letters are from fellow professionals, seeking Whytt's advice on patients: these correspondents include George Cleghorn (1716-1789), Ebenezer Gilchrist (1707-1774) and James Vaughan (1740-1813). A few items are from family members, notably Robert Melville (1723-1809) F.R.S.
