Written throughout in a seventeeth-century handwriting. On flyleaf: "Galen: Edit. Basil. 1538 3 vol. Gr. Lat. Tigur 1562." Above this, in a later hand: "Index Authorum a Galeno citatorum." The full title of the edition here quoted is as follows: Galeni Pergameni | Svmmi Semper Viri, Qviqve Primvs | Artem Medicinæ universam, Apvd Priores Ho | mines obscuram & ueluti errantem, in perspicuam quandam & propriam | expositionem traduxit, opera omnia, ad fidem compturimum & | perquam uetustorum exemplariorum ita emendata | atq: restituta, ut nunc primum nata, atque | in lucem ædita, uideri possint. Basileae, MD. xxxviii. The contents are as follows:-An index, under the letters of the Greek alphabet, of all the proper names quoted in the works of Galen, with page-references to the above-quoted edition.

82 folios, 3 volumes folio 4to. 24.3 × 18.3 cm. Old calf binding, rebacked. When the volume was originally bound, the edges were shaved and dyed red.
