About this work

Description

Various items of correspondence, with some cuttings.

Complete copy of Monthly Science News, No. 41 (December 1944), a "Pencillin Number". Its presentation of UK research, and a failure to mention TRC, provoked a letter to the editor from Professor I M Heilbron: "I take serious exception to the above publication which fails conspicuously to give a fair and accurate picture of the research work being carried out in this country" (copy of letter in file).

Cuttings of two letters (one from Dr Frank Hartley, TRC Secretary) under the heading "Penicillin 'Scandal'" (Birmingham Evening Despatch, October/November 1944).
