Description

Collection of miscellaneous holograph MSS, by Dr. Dixon. (1) Diary, names and addresses of patients, etc. in a copy of 'Smith's The Physicians, Surgeons and General Practitioners visiting list, diary, almanack, and book of engagements for 1859' (12 pp. + 136 ll. tall 8vo. 15½ x 7½ cm.). (2) Similar volume for 1861 (16 pp. + 134 ll.). (3) Similar volume for 1862 (16 pp. + 138 ll.). (4) Notes on Physical Geography [c. 1865] (7 ll. 4to. 25 x 19 cm.). Written on the rectos only. (5) Similar volume of Smith's Diary for 1878 (30 pp. + 90 ll.). (6) Notes on the Bible [1903-1923] (2 ll. + 132 ff. 4to. 23 x 18 cm.). With inserted newspaper cuttings, some at the end are dated 1923: the date 1903 is found on fol. 56. (7) Book list and 'Where is it?' [c. 1910] (12 ll. + 78 bl. ll. 8vo. 17 x 10 cm.). (8) Commonplace book. Written in a copy of the Rev. John Todd's 'Index rerum' London. 1843 [c. 1920] (8 pp. + 122 ll. 8vo. 23½ x 15½ cm.). The entries are mainly literary quotations, and most of the volume is blank.
