About this work

Description

Note of a Meeting Held in Portland House on 25th September, 1942. Attendees included Professor A Fleming and Professor H W Florey.
"In his opening remarks, the Chairman informed the meeting that the Minister of Supply, Sir Andrew Duncan, was much interested in the potentialities of Penicillin, and had given instructions that the Directorate of Medical Supplies in the Department of the Director-General of Equipment and Stores should take steps to ensure that all the available knowledge of this drug be pooled and concentration and extension of production facilitated, even to the extent of Government assistance if required. In compliance with that instruction, the present meeting, representative of all the foremost authorities on Penicillin, had been called."
