Frank Rowntree is asked to talk about gardening. He comments about the desire to get all the jobs done in one go. He recommends a more leisurely approach to prevent injury. He completes his broadcast by warning listeners to put all garden chemicals such as insecticides away from children and pets.

Francis St. D. Rowntree 1928-1996 was awarded the OBE in 1986. In 1987 he was appointed Vice President of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and also Vice President of the Institute of Health.
For a period in the 1970s, Frank Rowntree was the Health Education Officer for Sheffield. He was invited into the BBC Radio Sheffield studios for a regular short weekly health spot.
