About this work

Description

This Committee, which reported in 1939, was set up as a result of negotiations between the officers of the three other voluntary organisations working in the mental health field: the Child Guidance Council, the National Council for Mental Hygiene and the Central Association for Mental Welfare who all felt the need for an amalgamated body to deal with the mental health services. Mental After Care Association (MACA) was represented on the Committee. The material was in considerable disorder in several box files and has been sorted into a single sequence, re-arranged and weeded of duplicates. Original Committee references are given in italics.
