Description

Letters from various correspondents, including Charles Darwin (149), Sir Francis Beaufort (37, 47, 56), John Gibson Lockhart (22-23, 28, 144), and Caroline Norton (77, 80). The subject matter is personal rather than scientific, although several letters relate to the business of scientific institutions such as the Royal Geographical Society.
