Mostly medical and household, with a small selection of cookery receipes, with sources are given for some receipes.

Text occupies 78 pages of volume, the remainder is blank (approximately half).

First two end papers consist of inscriptions 'Julia Randolph' and 'Sophia Lombard'.

Sophia Lambarde (?-1838) and Juliana Randolph (nee Lambarde) were the daughters of Sir Multon Lambarde (1757-?) of Sevenoakes and Aurea, daughter of Francis Otway, who married in 1778. Julia married Admiral C G Randolph in 1829. The manuscript was intially created by Sophia and upon her death it was passed to her sister Juliana.
