Possibly by Jean Baptiste Alfred Cornilliet (1807-1887), as the impression catalogued has the same image size as the impression in the catalogue of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. However, the Bibliographie de la France (loc. cit.) gives the date of publication of that print as 1864, whereas an impression of the print at the Wellcome Library bears an inscription clearly dated 1854. Could there have been an earlier issue of the mezzotint?
