About this work
Description
An entertaining malaria prevention propaganda film which tells the story of a young man struck down with malaria on the day he is to start a new job. The hospital where he is successfully treated is shown as representing the effective and reassuring regime of modern medicine. Upon recovery he decides to join the WHO's Volta malaria eradication project as a sprayer. The film follows his training in some detail and shows some of the awkward situations which he faces during his first day at work, as a purveyor of new technology into an old and suspicious culture.
