About this work
Description
Eight letters from Suhm to Linnaeus: transcribed from autographs in the possession of Sir James Edward Smith [1759-1828]. The letters, which are in Swedish, are dated between 1769 and 1776: the originals are now in the library of the Linnaean Society in London. It is probable that these are holograph transcripts made by Anna Gurney [1795-1857], the Anglo-Saxon scholar, as this MS. was among a collection of her works purchased for the Wellcome Library.
