Diplomas of Thomas Joseph Pettigrew.

This volume is made up of a collection of diplomas etc. belonging to Thomas Joseph Pettigrew, F.R.C.S., F.R.S. (1791-1865).

The principal items of the seventeen diplomas are as follows:-- 1. Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, signed by David Dundas, Thompson Forster, Everard Home and others, dated 19th June, 1812 (fo. 3). 2. Fellow of the Linnean Society, date 15th June, 1813 (fo. 4). 3. Licence from the Justices in Quarter Sessions to hold public meetings as the Philosophical Society of London dated 2nd May, 1817 (fo. 6.). 4. Diplomas of foreign medical societies (fo. 8.9). 5. Doctor of Philosophy, University of Gottingen, 7th November, 1826 (fo. 14). 6. Fellow of the Royal Society, dated 2nd February, 1827 (fo. 15). 7. Corresponding Member of the Medical Society of Moldavia, 24 May, 1842 (fo. 25). 8. Honorary Member of the Institut Egyptien, 10th March, 1861 (fo. 31).
