About this work

Description

Le medicien de' cavalli.

The 6 ll. at the beginning are on different paper and probably a later 16th century addition. The water-mark of the main text seems to be Briquet No. 6664, assigned to Florenece 1508.

Below this, obliterated in ink, is the charm against worms, headed 'AD occidendum verme [sic] quod [sic] habet equs [sic] dicat semel/pater noster. Hoc dicto dicatur in nomine pa/[tris]... The remainder is illegible. Four unfoliated leaves, the last blank, containing an Index by a later 16th century hand.

At the beginning, the first leaf contains a note on Ruffo by an early 17th century hand, and the second, a veterinary receipt by a 16th century scribe.
