William Lana lives in Totness. He wanted to be part of the application more than he wanted to take part initially. He was offerred an art scholarship on leaving school but instead studied international relations and worked for the European Union; he now runs an organic textile company. He has started painting again. He is going to try and connect with people. He has information on one hundred tennis balls to represent one hundred days. He is doing the project for himself and for people who would like to take their passion seriously. He thinks the time is right to start slowing down in life. If the tennis ball idea fails he will paint. He describes himself as optimistic, inspired by certain people, someone who likes to help people translate their good intentions. Connecting people to each other is important to him, including helping his children to connect. He is a trustee for a number of charities including the Transition Network and the Soil Association, his fears are environment based. He hopes that people can mature as a civilisation with slightly different core values.
