About this work
Description
After its establishment, the Campaign leased headquarters offices, in Grosvenor Crescent, London, from the British Red Cross Society. In 1961 notice of termination of the lease was issued by the BRCS, who had in turn been given notice to quit by their landlords, the Trustees of the London Settled Estates of the Second Duke of Westminster, (also known as the Grosvenor Estates). The Campaign's lease was, however, subsequently extended until the end of 1970. Their new premises, 2 Carlton House Terrace, London, was established with the Royal College of Pathologists, as the result of a gift of half a million pounds from Michael Sobell, philanthropist and Chairman of GEC (Radio and Television) Ltd, (provided out of the Anne and Michael Sobell Charitable Trust), administered by the Campaign-College Trust.
