Some observations on the statute of the 26th of his late Majesty King George II. Intitled An act for the better prevention of clandestine marriages. With an appendix, containing an account (taken from the parish registers of some populous towns, where great trade and manufactures are carrying on) of all the marriages solemnized there for seven years previous and seven years subsequent to the said statute. To which are added, some short remarks on the laws of that part of Great-Britain called Scotland on this head, in a letter to a member of the Upper House of Parliament.
