About this work

Description

A perforated pad of white paper (33 leaves, 6" x 81/2") headed "F H C Crick" containing notes (holograph) on aspects of "The Control Hypothesis" and beginning "Postulates. 1. For a gene to be expressed (at all?) it must be part of, or next to, a chromosome. 2. A chromosome can only form if there are repeated (or v. approximately related sequences) ..."

Internal dates indicate that the notes were made during the first half of August 1971. The notepad was found 'loose' amongst various files concerning meetings attended.
