Franciscus de Padoanis Foroliviensis philosophiæ et medicinæ doctor aetatis suae annoru(m) LXI. Septa licet spinis tamen efflorescere quaerit. Iam cursu lampada tradit quem fortuna coelat. Cuius de facie faciem expressit Pragae anno Dni. MDCIII. Aegidius Sadeler S.C.M. coelator eidem et animi gratitudinis ergo dono dedit. Minerva on the left holds a scroll lettered "Non defuit voluntas" (His will did not lack"), while Apollo on the right holds a scroll lettered "Nec cecidit ictus" ("Nor did his blow fail")
