Description
Notes, extracts and commentaries on alchemical subjects, especially on the works of Eirenaeus Philaletha and Pantaleon: including at the end, and by a different hand, 'Les sept chapitres de Jean de Mehun, intitulez "Miroir d'Alchimie" '. With some alchemical, chemical and medical receipts: in French. Pp. 117-130 contain 'Explication des figures hiérogliphiques d'Abraham Jüif. The 'Sept chapitres de Jean de Mehun' are on the first six un-numbered leaves, and are in the form of a prose epitome. In the final section there is a reference to Pernety's 'Dictionnaire [mytho]hermétique', which was published in 1758.

1 volume 178 pp. + 18 ll. 8vo. 18 x 11 cm. Original vellum binding worn. A leaf has been cut out, before the commencement of the text. The un-numbered leaves are written by a different and probably later hand.
