About this work

Description

A portrait of the 'Primitive Streak' fashion collection created in 1998 by fashion designer Helen Storey and her sister, Oxford developmental biologist Dr. Kate Storey, based on embryological images and forms from the first 1000 hours of life of the human foetus. This project was one of the first in a series of 'SciArt' collaborations between artists and scientists funded by the Wellcome Trust as part of its programme of encouraging new and unconventional forms of public engagement with biomedical science.
