About this work

Description

This file contains a planned outline and a full manuscript for G. R. Wyatt's paper "The Nucleic Acids of Some Viruses" which was rejected by The Journal of Biological Chemistry in 1951, but then later accepted, in condensed form, by The Journal of General Physiology. Alongside the manuscript are pages of compiled data from Wyatt's experiments on the base content of insect virus and beef spleen nucleic acids, which were used as evidence for his suggestions made in the paper. It was this paper by Wyatt that was cited by F.H.C. Crick and J. D. Watson in their paper published in Nature on 2nd April 1953 titled "Molecular structure of Nucleic Acids"
