This work is untitled: the title has been supplied by the cataloguer.
The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Nertz depicted fashionable figures in the 'swinging London' of the 1960s. The 'sexual revolution' of that decade brought about a new openness about homosexuality, particularly after its partial decriminalisation in 1967. At the same time, youthful fashions became androgynous: 'uni-sex' styles appeared that could be worn by either sex, and fashionable young men wore make-up, and hair longer than the girls'. Despite such fashionable figures as the pop-singer David Bowie declaring himself to be 'bisexual', overtly 'effeminate' stereotypes as illustrated on the catalogued item were still generally considered figures of fun".
