L'accouchement d'une guenon. Gravure anonyme du XVIIIe siécle. La naissance de Simonne. ... Lettering continues: "Cette gravure anonyme, qui fait partie de la collection du Cabinet des Estampes, est de la première moitié du XVIIIe siècle. Les scènes de "singeries" furent très à la mode aux XVIIe, XVIIIe et même au début du XIXe siècles. Singes musiciens, singes peintres, singes dentistes ont été maintes fois représentés en peinture, dessin, tapisserie, etc. L'accouchement de la guenon Simonne reproduit ici est du genre le plus réaliste."
