About this work

Description

Sprue is a functional disorder of the alimentary tract. This film is a case-record of a patient with the classic signs and symptoms of the disease, including the typical facies, emaciation and skin pigmentation. Blood tests reveal hyperchromic macrocytic anaemia, with achlorhydria. Fat and glucose absorption are defective. The treatment is described and the patient shown again after recovery.
