2-22 21 letters from Sir Charles Locock to his "dear old friend", Dr William Kerr, 1857-1875, n.d. Locock wrote regularly and at some length to Kerr at least once a year around Christmas (at which time Kerr habitually sent Locock a turkey, and Locock a barrel of oysters to Kerr), and more often in some years. His letters are a mixture of personal, family, social and professional matters. In the December 1862 letter he mentions having been to Potsdam to attend the confinement of the Princess Royal
