The second in a two-part series looking at how non-Western people are using cosmetic surgery to 'de-racialise' themselves - this part features surgery on the face. We meet Jet, a glamour model who wants a more Western looking nose; she sees Michael Jackson as a source of inspiration. We see her surgery and follow her progress after surgery. Tahira wants to have lighter skin - her Bangladeshi hisband is much paler than her and, in the Asian community, darker skin is considered to be ugly. She undergoes a skin-lightening treatment in Harley Street. 28-year-old Mun aspires to be a model but feels his Asian features prevent him from getting work. Westernisation is so widespread in South East Asia that an estimated 1 in 10 Asian people have had cosmetic surgery; the most common procedure is the double eye lift to create a more Western-looking eyelid and larger eyes - we see this procedure. 29-year-old Najeeb returns to his native country, Pakistan, to get surgery to make his nose more Western. Surgery is cheaper in Pakistan - a nose job costs £1000 as opposed to £3000 - £4000 in the UK. Najeeb's surgery is shown in detail.
