Notes

Katherine Vero come from Berwick on Tweed. She works for a charity called Pfeg (Personal Finance Education Group) which promotes financial education for children. The reason she is passionate about this is that children and young people are finding it difficult in this age of debt, lack of aspiration. In the future she wants to set up a charity to help vulnerable families and children which will mean going back to university to study. She is wearing a t-shirt which reflects the plight of the women and children in Darfur. Her intention is to witness their plight and struggles and she wants to share awareness. She has brought along some flowers which she will be giving to the audience while on the plinth. The flowers have a label 'have a beautiful day' on them.
