Natural History. Part II: Vertebrated Animals. Biology and Natural History. Aves and Mammalia. Author's holograph sketch-books. These two uniform volumes contain carefully executed water-colour and pencil drawings of anatomical subjects, with neatly written legends. Inserted loose in the second volume are 7 coloured drawings of similar subjects, and a coloured chart (in two parts) of English rocks, etc. Both volumes are signed 'H. H. Hoffert. Royal School of Mines. South Kensington.' Produced in London.

The author was at the School of Mines 1876-1881, and was later D.Sc. of London University and professor of experimental physics.
