Illimunated chapter heading. The illumintation marks the end of the 17th adhyay of the mahatmya translation and the beginning of the commentary on the 18th adhyaya of the Bhagvadgita text. The extensive floral and vine decorations are caracteristic 19th c. Kashmiri productions, while the interlinear golden 'cloud' decorations evoke similar adornments used in Islamic manuscripts
