Description

The physicians are identified as Sir W. Farquar (kneeling in front); J. Ware (wearing spectacles); R. Pearson (presenting the address with Farquar); Sir G. Baker (bowing low behind Farquar); M. Garthshore or alternatively Sir William Knighton (standing at right); G.Pearson (the agitated man in the centre of the group); T. Beddoes (back left); W. Falconer (right of Beddoes); Sir George Smith Gibbes (extreme right). The figure of influenza is represented as a French visitor to England.
