About this work

Description

Control of vector-borne diseases: treating blankets with insecticide This picture shows the preparation of insecticide emulsion which is being used to treat chaddars (wraps/ blankets). The volume of insecticide which is measured in the small measuring cylinder is added to the red basin in front of the woman. This concentrate is mixed with a predetermined volume of water taken from the large red basin to the woman's right. The dose of insecticide and volume of water are calculated per chaddar before the dipping starts. Each piece of clothing is individually dipped in the insecticide emulsion until it has soaked up all the liquid. Note that the woman is wearing protective plastic gloves.
