About this work

Description

Draft document prepared by Chamberlayne, Hacking & Co, Westminster, and signed by R A Cooper with the comment "approved in principle". The document considers "objects", "capital" and "Sphere of operations".

Under "Objects," the purposes of the Scheme were: "to raise funds for needful expenditure for buildings, equipment, material and working capital ...";
"to meet the trend of events in this country and abroad by forming each country into a separate, self-supporting unit, in sympathy with the idea of 'local' rather than 'foreign' concerns";
"to induce capital being provided by local people interested in the industry";
and "to secure the help and co-operation of business men in the various countries abroad as Directors to assist in the management and control and extension of the businesses in those countries."
