Published Research Papers

Section consists of draft research papers (both typed and manuscript), and supporting papers and correspondence and pictures (primarily figures to be used in the published articles) that were all eventually published in a variety of journals and books between 1962 and 1973. Each individual research paper was usually written by Vane in conjunction with one or more people rather by Vane on his own. However, the drafts are typically Vane's working drafts with his annotations and amendments.

All of these research papers were published whilst Vane was at the Royal College of Surgeons. In 1955 Vane took up a position in W.D.M. Paton's department of pharmacology at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences of the University of London, which was eventually located at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in London. Vane gained a chair in 1966, and remained there until 1973.
