    Trusses. LAMBE’S SPECIFICATION. TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, I, Thomas Lambe, of the Parish of Saint Bride, in the City of London, Surgeon Dentist, send greeting. WHEREAS His present Majesty King George tlie Third, by His Letters 5 Patent under the Great Seal of Great Britain, bearing date at West¬ minster, the Twelfth day of May now last past, hath given and granted unto me, the said Thomas Lambe, my executors, administrators, and assigns, special licence, full power, sole privilege, and authority, to make, use, exercise, and vend, within England, Wales, and the Town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, 10 during the term of years therein expressed, my Invention of “ An Improved Truss for Persons afflicted with the Bubonocele, and other Ruptures;” in which said Letters Patent there is contained a proviso, obliging me, the said Thomas Lambe, by an instrument in writing under my hand and seal, to cause a particular description of the nature of my said Invention, and in what 15 manner the same is to be performed, to be inrolled in His Majesty’s High Court of Chancery within one calendar month next after the date of the said recited Letters Patent, as in and by the same (relation being thereunto had) may more fully and at large appear. NOW KNOW YE, that I, the said Thomas Lambe, in compliance with 20 the said proviso, do hereby declare that the nature of my said Invention, and the manner in which the same is to be performed, is particularly described and ascertained in the Plan hereunto annexed, and the following description thereof, that is to say:— This truss should be made of the best German or sheer steel, and long 25 enough to go about three parts round the body, and tempered so as to spring
