Description

Fig. 9. The 'Richmond Crown' design was patented by Dr C M Richmond in 1880 and consisted of 'banding' to attach the crown to the root. Fig. 10. The 'Buttner Crown' was invented by Dr H W Buttner and involved a metal and porcelain crown with a band, but was soon abandoned. Page 6, 'Principles and practice of crowning teeth: a practical, systematic and modern treatise upon the requirements and technique of artificial crown work, including some incidental reference to bridgework' by Hart John Goslee, 1903.
