Biographical note
In 1989 Wellcome plc moved out of the Wellcome Building at 183 Euston Road, which was purchased by the Wellcome Trust at the time of the first Wellcome plc flotation. With the Trust outgrowing its accomodation at Park Square West, it was decided that the Wellcome Building would be refurbished and connected to Bentley House to provide for the Trust's future accomodation needs and to create space for a major exhibition and meeting facility.
The Wellcome Building Committee was formed in 1988 to approve and advise on related matters, including works contracts, layout proposals and interior fixtures and fittings.
