Correspondence and papers relating to fluoridation of the water supply, notably arguments for and against fluoridation voiced in the UK and overseas, views on whether it is 'mass medication', the medical aspects of fluoridated drinking water, doctors and dentists opinions, fluoride toxicity, side effects and general health, issues of free and full patient consent (there was some tension between the National Pure Water Association and the Patients Association in 1964 about the latter organisation's neutral stance on this matter, the NPWA wanting them to be openly against fluoridation), the fluoridation of milk, aspects of nutrition and fluoridation, varying policies of Area Health Authorities and how they are received by the public.

Includes correspondence with, and pamphlets, booklets, newsletters and press releases issued by various interested parties, such as the Ministry of Health British Dental Association, National Pure Water Association, London Anti-Fluoridation Campaign, The Health Education Council, International Institute of Human Nutrition, National Anti-Fluoridation Campaign, Fluoridation Society Ltd.
