Chronological. The correspondence about societies Pontecorvo was involved with was found with his personal correspondence but a decision was made to arrange it with the rest of the society and fellowship material and it appears at the end of this section.

Biographical note

Pontecorvo received many distinctions and honours throughout his carrer. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society of London, of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, a foreign member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Indian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Danish Royal Society of Science and Letters, US National Academy of Sciences, the Indian Academy of Sciences, and the Indian National Science Academy.
